The many ways you can follow my blog...

There are a plethora of ways you can receive automatic updates on my blog. You can subscribe via email by typing your email address in the top box on the side-bar of my blog. If you subscribe via email, you will receive new posts in your inbox immediately after I publish them. You can also subscribe in a reader by clicking the link to the left. This will add an RSS feed of my blog to whatever RSS feed-reader you use. If you use Blogger or Blogspot, you can click follow at the top of this page and my blog will show up in your list of followed blogs. I will also try to share links to my new posts on Facebook.

I will be more motivated to keep this blog up to date if more people subscribe to it. You know, it's nice to know that someone is reading what I write.

The Adventure Continues

Hello all,

So, I wasn't expecting to ever post to this blog again, but it turns out that I was wrong. Why? Because in August I will be flying to Reutlingen, Germany again to work as an intern in the Reutlingen University International Studies Office (RIO). This position in RIO has been filled by a Valpo grad for the past 20 years. It's a year-long commitment. My responsibilities will include maintaining and updating the RIO website, helping international students register for classes and check into their rooms, organisation of field trips and special events, assisting with the Valpo-Reutlingen, and whatever else the RIO director might come up with. I will be living in a one-room apartment (paid for by the school) on the university campus and I will received a monthly stipend for food and other expenses.

I am looking forward very much to the challenges that this job has in store for me. It will be a much different experience compared to my last year abroad. Keep your eyes open for posts here throughout the next year.

In the meantime, I recently started my last semester as an undergrad at Valparaiso University. I'm singing in "Kantorei", the school's curricular chapel choir, I play in the Handbell Choir of the Chapel of the Resurrection, and am a team captain for one of the Valpo Independent Robotics Team's robots which we will be entering in the Jerry Sanders Creative Design Competition at UIUC in March. I helped found the Independent Robotics Team as a recognized student organisation two years ago and it has grown from seven members to about 20 with three robots being entered in the annual competition. This semester I decided to join the Crusader Pep-Band so that I could keep up my drumset chops. I've been to more Valpo athletic events in the last two weeks because of pep-band than in all four previous years of my Valpo career.

Thanks for reading. Stay in touch!
